Job summary

Axelera AI is seeking a Staff AI Application Engineer to design and build the model enablement platform, optimizing how models run across Metis/Europa AIPU, host CPU, and accelerators. You’ll work across frontend, graph compiler, runtime and application pipelines, with a focus on performance and verification using AI agents in daily work.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of engineering experience in systems, compilers, runtimes or performance with ownership of design
• Hands-on experience with heterogeneous computing across CPU/GPU/NPU/DSP/FPGA and data movement considerations
• Solid fundamentals in computer architecture, operating systems and parallel programming
• Familiarity with ML graph representations and compiler concepts (torch.export, FX, ONNX)
• Strong C++ and Python
• Daily use of AI coding agents in real engineering work with judgment to review/test outputs

Responsibilities

• Build and operate the model enablement platform and agent harness for model bring-up, partitioning, compiling, running and profiling
• Own how PyTorch/ONNX models are captured and split across AIPU, CPUs and accelerators with read/override placement tags
• Extend heterogeneous execution to large models and multi-model pipelines with caching and offloading strategies
• Collaborate with graph compiler and runtime teams to maximize end-to-end performance
• Study and implement improvements based on feedback from customers and internal testing
