CritPt is a public benchmark of research-level physics challenges, built to test whether frontier AI models can carry out genuine physics research reasoning. This is research-grade work, with written reasoning required for every assignment, and you will match to an area after discussions.

The engagement runs 10 hours per week for 8 to 10 weeks, entirely remotely. We expect a PhD in high energy or nuclear theory or related fields, plus a verifiable publication record.

Qualifications

• A PhD in high energy theory, nuclear theory or a closely related field.
• Published work on the specific phenomenon above, not the adjacent one.
• For the quasi-PDF areas specifically, loop-calculation experience, not lattice experience alone.
• A verifiable publication record. Three to five representative papers with arXiv IDs or DOIs, ideally from the last five years. First author strongly preferred.
• Working proficiency with LaTeX, Python, SymPy and Jupyter. Some familiarity with VS Code extension is useful.
• English at B2 or above, including written reasoning.
