Job summary

Lever, Inc. is seeking a part-time security engineering leader to elevate its security posture across cloud, applications, and governance. You will shape strategy, establish controls, and prioritize initiatives based on business risk and impact.

You will mentor IT leadership, promote secure coding, and support GDPR and cross-border privacy requirements across Europe, Asia, and Australia, while advising startups on practical security foundations and risk assessments.

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on security engineering experience in cloud & application security.
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and CI/CD security.
• Experience with governance, risk management, and GDPR/compliance frameworks.
• Ability to translate technical risks into practical actions for engineering teams.
• Experience handling external security reviews and client security questionnaires.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a 12-month security roadmap balancing enterprise-grade security with speed.
• Mentor IT leadership and translate activities into measurable security controls.
• Lead secure coding practices, OWASP, and DevSecOps across teams.
• Assess security controls across cloud infra, development environments, and IAM.
• Standardize responses to audits, questionnaires, and vendor assessments.
• Guide incident response, business continuity, and disaster recovery policies.
