Job summary

HyLight is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to own payload and ops-upload software for its HyLighter airships. You will ensure robust data capture, reliable offload, and seamless integration with the cloud platform, supporting a growing fleet and real-world operations.

You will work in a hands-on role, bridging firmware, field engineering, and data operations, with autonomous ownership and rapid iteration.

Qualifications

Background in embedded software, robotics, or hardware-facing engineering for real-world products.
Experience with end-to-end ownership from field deployment to operations.
Comfortable on the bench and in the field with a laptop and terminal.
Familiar with AI tools and applying them to practical workflows.
Engineering degree or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

Make Payload bulletproof: ensure complete, valid data capture on every flight and preflight health checks.
Make the Ops Upload tool foolproof: fast offload, reliable, and user-friendly.
Connect it to the platform: define data handover and traceability from capture to customer insight.
Own end-to-end operations across a fleet of 15 airships and continuous updates.
