Job summary

HyLight is seeking a Data Engineer to own the data chain end to end, from payload capture to delivery and analytics. You will ensure payloads are ready for flight, manage truck-based upload systems, and oversee cloud processing costs while improving automation and reliability.

This generalist role blends embedded hardware knowledge with cloud and data engineering. You’ll work across teams, take ownership from day one, and continuously optimize operations and data quality.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Solid Python and Linux shell; C/C++ is a plus.
• Experience with data pipelines, Docker, and cloud (AWS).

Responsibilities

• Run payload data chain end to end from capture to delivery.
• Optimize compute, storage, and data transfers to reduce cost.
• Debug data issues across hardware, network, and software.
