Mercor is seeking an Aerodynamics Writer - Engineering to create original, expert-level aerodynamics problems grounded in real industry scenarios for our remote teams.

You will write complete solutions, validate difficulty with frontier language models, and assess AI-generated content to strengthen model reasoning and rigor.

The ideal candidate has a PhD in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with thermofluids specialization and 5+ years in CFD, wind tunnel testing, or external aerodynamics.

Qualifications

• PhD in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with a thermofluids/aerodynamics focus.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in external aerodynamics, CFD, wind tunnel testing, propulsion, or vehicle aerodynamics.

Responsabilités

• Author original, free-response engineering problems grounded in real industry scenarios.
• Write complete expert-level solutions for each problem.
• Validate difficulty by testing problems with frontier language models until at least one fails.
• Evaluate the accuracy and depth of AI-generated content in aerodynamics to strengthen model outputs.
• Work independently and asynchronously to meet deadlines while improving AI model performance.
