Upwork is seeking CFD & Aerodynamic Engineers to help train and evaluate next-generation AI systems by contributing real-world engineering expertise. This fully remote, independent contractor opportunity offers flexible scheduling and payment via Upwork contracts.

Requirements include a Bachelor's in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, hands-on OpenFOAM CFD experience, and strong fundamentals in fluid mechanics and aerodynamics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
• Hands-on experience with OpenFOAM for CFD simulations.
• Strong foundation in fluid mechanics, aerodynamics, and heat transfer principles.
• Experience with mesh generation, turbulence modeling, boundary condition specification, and post-processing.
• Ability to write clear, precise, and objectively verifiable engineering problems.
• Excellent written English communication skills.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsabilités

• Design CFD and aerodynamics tasks to evaluate AI models.
• Create clear problem statements with boundary conditions and mesh setup.
• Develop deterministic scoring checkers to evaluate AI outputs.
• Produce verified reference solutions to ensure tasks are accurate and solvable.
• Review and refine tasks for clarity, physical accuracy, and appropriate difficulty.
• Apply OpenFOAM to develop realistic engineering scenarios.
• Work independently in a remote, asynchronous environment.
