Job summary

C12 Quantum Electronics in Paris seeks an Instrumentalist/Metrologist to own the end-to-end measurement chain for qubit control and readout. You will optimize cryogenic and RF readout systems, quantify noise, calibrate pulses, and design dashboards for performance metrics with the quantum team.

You will collaborate with physicists and engineers, drive upgrades, and document processes to scale operations toward a quantum advantage.

Qualifications

• PhD in experimental physics or metrology with at least two years postdoc or industry experience.
• We welcome diverse sub-fields (superconducting/semiconductor qubits, quantum sensing, atomic/optical metrology).
• Proven track record in building, characterizing, and optimizing complex experiments.
• Strong RF experiments skills: pulse sequencing, phase noise, IQ up/down conversion; dilution fridge experience.
• Excellent written and oral English; rigorous scientific standards.

Responsibilities

• Own the measurement chain error budget for qubit control and readout.
• Maintain cryogenic DC/microwave control and readout chains; ensure reproducible performance.
• Quantify noise impact on qubit coherence and fidelities; calibrate pulses for readout/gate fidelity.
• Design dashboards to monitor qubit metrics; provide quantitative feedback to R&D teams.
• Drive upgrades from spec to commissioning and supplier follow-up.
• Write documentation and train scientists and engineers on setups and protocols.
