Job summary

C12 Quantum Electronics in Paris is seeking a Thermal Modeling & Cryogenic Systems Engineer (Quantum Hardware) to own the thermal architecture of cryogenic quantum systems and enable scalable quantum computing. You will work with quantum physicists and engineers to optimize thermal performance and guide system design.

The role emphasizes development of system-level models, validation experiments, and cross-disciplinary collaboration on cryo-electronics for next-generation quantum processors.

Qualifications

• Masters or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Cryogenics or related, with 3+ years of industry experience.
• Strong background in thermal engineering and cryogenics with proven modeling experience.
• Ability to work across quantum hardware, electronics and systems teams; hands-on with cryogenic platforms.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain system-level thermal models for quantum hardware including qubits and cryo-electronics.
• Collaborate with engineers and physicists to identify thermal constraints and guide design decisions.
• Own the thermal budget and analyze trade-offs for qubit architectures and wiring schemes.
• Validate models through experiments, compare predictions with measurements, and debug discrepancies.
• Design thermalization strategies for signals and interfaces to minimize heat while preserving signal integrity.
• Support integration and operation of cryogenic test platforms and instrumentation.
• Document assumptions, models, and design rules for product development.
