BioMed X is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to build and lead the wet-lab characterization arm of our AI-guided bispecific antibody discovery program. You will join a team blending computational structural biology, machine learning, and antibody engineering to design next-generation bispecifics.

Based at BioMed X in France, you will contribute to experimental design, data integrity, and close collaboration with Servier on a high-profile XSeed Labs project, with mentoring from senior scientists

Qualifications

• PhD in Structural Biology, Life Sciences, Biochemistry, or a closely related field.
• Hands-on expertise in protein expression/purification, thermostability assays, and characterisation of protein–antibody complexes (BLI/SPR, BRET/FRET, X-ray/cryo-EM).
• Track record of independent project management, able to own a workstream end to end.
• Publication record demonstrating research rigor and output.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Set up and run the lab's core characterisation pipeline with our biological engineer: protein expression and purification, thermostability assays, and standard PPI binding assays.
• Design experiments and assays to test hypotheses generated by the team, and help pinpoint why designs succeed or fail.
• Own wet-lab data integrity, traceability, and the consolidation of experimental and computational datasets.
• Manage CRO relationships where external capacity is needed (e.g., protein production, specialised assays).
• Work closely with computational scientists to close the design-test-learn loop.

About Team ADB (AI-Empowered Platform for Sterically Guided Design of Bispecific Antibodies)

Team ADB is a newly established research team within BioMed X’s XSeed Labs program. The team will develop AI-enabled platform for the rational design of bispecific antibodies, addressing key limitations such as steric hindrance, epitope accessibility, spatial dynamics, and physiological constraints that currently limit the systematic development of immune cell engagers (ICEs) and dual-targeting antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs).

In close collaboration with Servier, the team operates at the interface of academia and industry, translating advances in antibody engineering, structural biology, and machine learning into geometry-aware design strategies with high translational relevance. The team will be based on Servier’s R&D campus in Paris-Saclay, near Paris, France, enabling close, day-to-day interaction with industry scientists.

The Position

We're looking for a postdoctoral researcher to build and lead the wet-lab characterization arm of our AI-guided bispecific antibody discovery program.

You’ll be part of a team combining computational structural biology, machine learning, and antibody engineering to design next generation bispecifics.

Required skills

The ideal candidate will have:

• A PhD in Structural Biology, Life Sciences, Biochemistry, or a closely related field.
• Hands‑on expertise in protein expression/purification, thermostability assay, characterisation of protein and antibody‑antigen complex (BLI/SPR, BRET/FRET, Xray/cryoEM).
• Track record of independent project management, able to own a workstream end to end.
• Publication record demonstrating research rigor and output.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Additional skills, good to have

• Experience across multiple expression systems (yeast, bacterial, mammalian).
• Familiarity with complementary analytical/QC techniques.
• FACS or MACS‑based binding or functional assays.
• Familiarity with computational protein design.
