The IPCMS (Institut de Physique et de Chimie des Matériaux de Strasbourg) is seeking a highly motivated chemist with a PhD to join a multidisciplinary team working on circularly-polarized luminescence and lanthanide complexes. You will independently synthesize ligands and organometallics under inert conditions and characterize products with NMR, MS, and UV-Vis/fluorescence spectroscopy.

English communication skills are essential; knowledge of French is not required.

Qualifications

• PhD required in Chemical Sciences or Molecular Chemistry with synthesis and spectroscopy background.
• Very good knowledge of written and spoken English; French not essential.
• Ability to work independently in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Provide letter of motivation, detailed CV with marks, and references.

Responsabilités

• Design new photoactive ligands and complexes.
• Synthesize organic heterocyclic ligands independently.
• Synthesize organometallic complexes under an inert atmosphere.
• Purify products using chromatographic techniques independently.
• Characterize products using spectroscopic techniques (NMR, MS, FT-IR) and optical spectroscopy.
