Résumé du poste

European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF) invites applications for a PhD position hosted at ER-C (Forschungszentrum Jülich). The project focuses on growth, characterization, and operando TEM studies of functional oxide materials, enabling new experimental approaches at atomic scale.

The successful candidate will work on in situ epitaxial growth, oxygen-vacancy ordering, and topotactic phase transitions using state-of-the-art TEM, electron holography, and biasing techniques, in collaboration

Qualifications

  • Degree allowing enrolment for a PhD in physics, chemistry or closely-related natural science such as materials science, nanotechnology.
  • Background in X-ray microscopy and electron microscopy.
  • Strong background in condensed matter physics and an interest in emergent quantum mechanical properties.
  • Proficiency in English (upper-intermediate).
