Résumé du poste

The European Synchrotron Radiation Facility invites applications for a 3-year PhD project hosted at ER-C (Forschungszentrum Jülich) with joint supervision from PGI-7. The candidate will explore in situ TEM studies of functional oxide materials, including growth, oxygen-vacancy ordering and phase transitions under external stimuli.

The role requires enrolment in a doctoral program; strong background in X-ray/electron microscopy and condensed matter physics is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Degree allowing enrolment for a Ph.D. (such as M.Sc., Master 2 de Recherche, Laurea or equivalent)
  • Ideal background includes X-ray microscopy and electron microscopy experiments
  • Strong interest in condensed matter physics and emergent quantum properties

Responsabilités

  • Conduct in situ epitaxial growth and TEM studies on oxide thin films and 2D materials.
  • Investigate growth, oxygen-vacancy ordering and phase transitions under external stimuli.

Connaissances

X-ray microscopy
Electron microscopy
Exfoliated 2D materials
Condensed matter physics

Formation

PhD enrolment degree in physics/chemistry or related natural science
