ESRF - The European Synchrotron presents a PhD project hosted by ER-C Jülich in collaboration with ETH Zurich. The project focuses on direct visualization of ion-irradiation effects in materials using in situ TEM and real-time imaging.

The successful candidate will combine TEM techniques with Python/MATLAB data analysis, while participating in cross-institutional training and mobility as part of the NextSTEP programme.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with TEM and TEM specimen fabrication.
  • Image processing and data analysis using Python or MATLAB.
  • Proficiency in English and ability to work across international teams.

Responsabilités

  • Perform in situ TEM experiments to observe microstructural evolution under ion irradiation.
  • Process and analyze imaging data with Python/MATLAB.
  • Collaborate with LMPT, ETH Zurich and ER-C researchers and contribute to publications.
