ixolabs.ai is seeking an expert to audit outpatient professional-fee coding and review the work of other coders. You will apply E/M, modifier, time-versus-MDM and NCCI bundling rules, and provide clear feedback to calibrate coding quality in a remote engagement.

This paid IXO expert role offers flexible hours and a focus on QA programs, with experience auditing peers and implementing AI-data validation. A background in healthcare audits and a track record of improving accuracy are highly valued.

Qualifications

• AAPC CPC certification is required.
• CPMA certification is a plus.
• Ten years in coding or outpatient audits at an academic medical center.
• Experience auditing other coders and practical knowledge of E/M levels, modifier 25, time vs MDM and NCCI bundling.
• Ability to explain decisions clearly and provide constructive feedback; QA/validation experience helpful.

Professional background

Audit outpatient professional-fee coding and review the work of other coders. Apply E/M, modifier, time-versus-MDM and bundling rules, identify unsupported decisions and provide clear feedback that helps calibrate coding quality.

The preferred profile includes AAPC CPC certification, with CPMA as an additional advantage, and either ten years in coding or responsibility for outpatient professional-fee audits at an academic medical center. Bring experience auditing other coders and practical knowledge of E/M levels, modifier 25, time versus medical decision‑making and NCCI bundling. Explain decisions consistently, give constructive feedback and help reviewers align their judgments. QA programs, gold‑set assessment or AI‑data validation are useful experience.

Working arrangements

This is remote, paid IXO expert work. Agree the specific task brief, permitted materials, outputs and working schedule with IXO before starting. Any commitment or duration described in a practice profile is an indicative planning requirement for that route, subject to that agreement.

Pay

$35 $45/hr USD. The applicable rate is agreed for the work and professional track before you begin.
