Job summary

Surgery Partners is recruiting an OR Circulator RN for our ambulatory surgery center, coordinating and managing patient care during the intraoperative phase and serving as the patient advocate in the operating room. You will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and perioperative staff to ensure a safe surgical environment and smooth case flow.

The role requires BLS; ACLS is preferred.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Previous operating room circulating experience preferred.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented surgical environment.
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care during the intraoperative period.
• Ensure patient safety through adherence to established policies, procedures, and evidence-based practices.
• Perform and document pre-procedure verification, surgical site verification, and time-out processes.
• Coordinate room setup and ensure all necessary equipment, instruments, implants, and supplies are available and functioning properly.
• Maintain accurate intraoperative documentation in the electronic medical record.
• Monitor aseptic technique and sterile field integrity throughout surgical procedures.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and surgical team to promote efficient case flow.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, anesthesia providers, and team members.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and patient safety standards.
• Participate in room turnover and preparation for subsequent cases.
• Assist with quality improvement initiatives and support a culture of safety and excellence.
