Job summary

Intermountain Region ASCs is seeking an OR Circulator RN for our ambulatory surgery center. You will coordinate intraoperative patient care, advocate for patient safety, verify procedures, and ensure equipment and supplies are ready.

You will document intraoperative details and support multiple specialties in a busy outpatient environment. The role requires BLS, preferred ACLS, and prior OR circulating experience, with a focus on teamwork, critical thinking, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Previous operating room circulating experience preferred.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented surgical environment.
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience in multiple surgical specialties is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage patient care during the intraoperative period.
• Advocate for patient safety and collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and perioperative staff.
• Perform pre-procedure verification, site verification, and time-out processes.
• Ensure room setup and equipment, implants, and supplies are available and functional.
• Maintain accurate intraoperative documentation in the electronic medical record.
• Monitor aseptic technique and sterile field integrity throughout procedures.
• Anticipate needs of the surgeon and team to promote efficient case flow.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and team members.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and patient safety standards.
• Participate in room turnover and preparation for subsequent cases.

Join our growing team at a busy 6-operating room Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) dedicated to providing exceptional surgical care in a patient-centered environment. Our facility performs a wide range of outpatient procedures across multiple specialties, including orthopedics, urology, ophthalmology, hand and foot surgery, ENT, neurosurgery, pain management, and other surgical services.

As an OR Circulator RN, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing patient care throughout the intraoperative phase of surgery. You will serve as the patient's advocate in the operating room, ensuring a safe surgical environment while collaborating closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and other members of the perioperative team.

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care during the intraoperative period.
• Ensure patient safety through adherence to established policies, procedures, and evidence-based practices.
• Perform and document pre-procedure verification, surgical site verification, and time-out processes.

Qualifications

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented surgical environment.
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience in multiple surgical specialties is preferred.
• Four (4) 10-hour shifts per week.
• Monday through Friday schedule.
• First cases begin between 7:00 AM and 7:30 AM.
• No weekends, no call requirements (if applicable).
• Closed on major holidays.
