Job summary

Danone invites applications for a six-month internship at the Paris-Saclay/Gif-sur-Yvette Research & Innovation center beginning Jan/Feb 2027. You will join a senior scientist team to conduct microbiology and gut physiology experiments, document results, and contribute to protocol development.

The role requires a Master 2/Bac+5 in a related field and strong analytical skills with Excel, R, or GraphPad. Up to 2 days remote, compensation €1,500 gross/month, and on-site restaurant access are

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Master 2, engineering school, or equivalent Bac+5 program in microbiology, biotechnology, food science, biological engineering, gut physiology, or a related field.
• Rigorous, curious, proactive, and autonomous, with a strong interest in experimental science and translational research related to nutrition, microbiota, and gut health.
• Comfortable with laboratory work and basic microbiology techniques; experience with data analysis tools such as Excel, R, GraphPad, or similar software would be appreciated.
• Enjoys working in a collaborative research environment, communicating scientific results clearly, and interacting with various scientific and technical experts.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to research projects focused on food, microorganisms, digestion, and gut physiology, with emphasis on microbiology and in vitro digestive models.
• Plan, perform, and document laboratory experiments involving microbial cultures, in vitro digestion/fermentation models, and analytical readouts.
• Analyze experimental data, prepare summaries, and help interpret results with scientists and technicians.
• Develop or optimize protocols related to microbiology, gut physiology, and food matrix characterization while ensuring rigor and traceability.
