Mane Contract Services are recruiting a Mechanical Engineer to join a major engineering and construction organisation delivering high-value projects across data centres, advanced technology and life sciences. The role focuses on day‑to‑day management and delivery of mechanical systems on site, with responsibility from design coordination through to handover.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years of site delivery experience, strong planning skills, and familiarity with Primavera and CAD/BIM

Mane Contract Services are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a major engineering and construction organisation delivering complex, high-value projects across data centres, advanced technology, life sciences and other mission-critical environments.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer with strong site-based mechanical delivery experience to take ownership of a mechanical package, working closely with project management, engineering, BIM, subcontractors, suppliers and the client team.

The Role:

As Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and delivery of mechanical systems within your assigned package, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the required quality standards.

You will be involved across the full project lifecycle, from design coordination and procurement through installation, commissioning, validation and final handover.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage mechanical systems and associated installation packages on site.
• Liaise with the client design team, main contractor, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Review IFC drawings, specifications and design information to understand project requirements.
• Coordinate with BIM teams to develop installation drawings and ensure compliance with specifications.
• Manage RFIs, technical queries and design changes.
• Manage subcontractor progress, manpower, materials, plant and equipment.
• Monitor project progress against programme and identify potential delays or risks.
• Support project safety and QA/QC requirements, including the management and close-out of relevant documentation.
• Manage technical submittals, approvals, material take-offs and procurement activities.
• Coordinate material deliveries in line with the project schedule.
• Ensure installations comply with project specifications, standards and the QA plan.
• Support construction work packs, validation, commissioning and client handover.
• Manage snagging and punch-list activities through to close-out.
• Attend site, engineering, planning, coordination and handover meetings.
• Produce weekly internal and external progress reports.
• Monitor project costs, orders, labour levels and material requirements.
• Support tendering and technical assessment of subcontractor and supplier returns.
• Work closely with BIM teams on modularisation, fabrication details, isometrics and construction releases.
• Coach and support junior engineers within the project team.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and the adoption of new engineering practices.

What We're Looking For:

• 5+ years' experience working with a recognised Mechanical/Electrical contractor.
• Strong mechanical engineering and site delivery experience.
• Excellent organisational and planning skills.
• Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multiple stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving, negotiation and decision-making skills.
• Good IT and engineering software skills.
• Familiarity with Primavera / project planning software.
• Understanding of CAD/BIM processes.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively within a project team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and use initiative.
• Experience with modularisation and off-site fabrication methodologies.
• Previous experience within data centres, critical infrastructure or other complex engineering environments.
