Job summary

JAM is recruiting an experienced Mechanical Site Manager to join a major LNG infrastructure project in France. The role oversees mechanical construction activities on site, coordinating installations, piping systems and equipment in line with project specs and safety standards.

Working closely with the Project Manager and site team, you will lead subcontractors, monitor progress, and ensure delivery to schedule.

Qualifications

• Strong technical background in mechanical construction, ideally LNG/Oil & Gas projects.
• Experience overseeing mechanical installations on large-scale projects.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Site Manager to join a major LNG infrastructure project in France.

The Mechanical Site Manager will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating mechanical construction activities on site, ensuring all works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with project specifications, quality standards and construction schedules.

Working closely with the Project Manager, Site Superintendent and wider construction team, you will oversee subcontractors, coordinate mechanical work packages and manage the day-to-day execution of mechanical installations, piping systems and associated equipment.

The position requires a strong technical background in mechanical construction, ideally gained on large-scale LNG, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical or Energy Infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage mechanical construction activities across the project.
• Supervise subcontractors, mechanical supervisors and site teams to ensure works are delivered safely and on schedule.
• Coordinate mechanical installations, including piping systems, static equipment, supports and associated infrastructure.
• Oversee the installation of cryogenic piping systems and associated mechanical equipment.
• Monitor daily construction progress, productivity, manpower allocation and project milestones.
• Ensure mechanical works comply with engineering drawings, technical specifications, quality requirements and HSE standards.
• Coordinate pressure testing, flushing, cleaning, drying and mechanical completion activities.
• Review method statements, installation procedures, inspection and test plans (ITPs) and technical documentation.
• Manage interfaces between mechanical, piping, civil, structural, electrical and commissioning teams.
• Identify and resolve technical issues, construction challenges and potential programme delays.
• Conduct regular site inspections and oversee subcontractor performance.
• Support QA/QC activities, punch-list closure and mechanical handover to commissioning teams.
• Attend construction meetings and provide regular progress updates to project management.
• Ensure all mechanical activities comply with site safety procedures and applicable industry standards.
