Job summary

Leap29 is seeking a Resident Engineer – Mechanical to oversee mechanical installation activities for major hyperscale Data Centre projects in Paris. You will act as the client’s on-site technical representative, ensuring designs are followed from construction through commissioning and handover.

The role requires strong knowledge of HVAC, chilled water systems and building services, with experience coordinating with contractors and site teams to deliver complex projects safely and to design

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in Data Centres or Mission Critical facilities.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems, chilled water and critical cooling infrastructure.
• Ability to interpret drawings and technical documentation.
• Experience coordinating with contractors and site teams.

Responsibilities

• Monitor installation works against approved designs and specifications.
• Review site quality, workmanship, and compliance standards.
• Identify and resolve technical and coordination issues during construction.
• Work closely with contractors, consultants, and project teams.
• Participate in inspections, testing, commissioning, and handovers.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Resident Engineer – Mechanical to support the delivery of major hyperscale and mission‑critical projects in Paris.

The Role

Working as the client's on‑site technical representative, you will oversee mechanical installation activities, ensure compliance with approved designs, and support successful project delivery from construction through commissioning and handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor mechanical installation works against approved designs and specifications.
• Review site quality, workmanship, and compliance standards.
• Identify and resolve technical and coordination issues during construction.

Requirements

• Experience within Data Centres, Mission Critical facilities, Building Services, Industrial projects, or complex construction environments.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, chilled water systems, critical cooling infrastructure, mechanical plant, and building services systems.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Experience working directly with contractors, consultants, and site teams.
• Strong communication, coordination, and problem‑solving skills.
