Malt is seeking a Legal Counsel to join our Paris team. You will partner with Sales, Product, and Customer Care to support Malt’s growth in France and abroad.

You will draft and negotiate commercial agreements, provide strategic legal advice, contribute to expansion plans, and deliver internal training on compliance and risk.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of legal experience in a (tech) company or law firm.
• Proven experience in contract law.
• Business-focused with strong client service orientation across teams (sales, product, etc.).
• Fluent in French and English; a third European language is a plus.

We are seeking a new Legal Counsel to join our organization in Paris. As part of a six-person legal team, you will play a critical role in supporting Malt’s growth in France and abroad by being a reliable business partner to the sales team.

Key Responsibilities

• Contract Review & Negotiation:
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements with French and international clients and providers
• Business Development:
• Actively participate in client calls and partner meetings to explain Malt's business model and address legal concerns
• Contribute to the development and implementation of legal strategies to support Malt's international expansion
• Legal Counsel & Support:
• Provide strategic legal advice and guidance to internal teams (Sales, Customer Care, Product, etc.) on a broad range of legal and compliance issues
• Develop and deliver internal training programs on legal and compliance topics
• Act as a legal product referent, ensuring product compliance with applicable laws and regulations

About You

• You have 4+ years of legal experience as a lawyer in a (tech) company or law firm;
• Proven experience in contract law
• You are Business-Focus: Strong client service orientation, including the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with the various teams at Malt (sales, product, etc.), understand client needs, and provide timely and effective legal advice
• You are hands-on: we have a lot to build, you’ll have to imagine solutions and turn them into reality
• Problem-Solving: Ability to effectively address legal challenges and find practical and business-oriented solutions
• You are fluent in French and English; a third European language would be a big plus
• You are comfortable with change, you are curious and always want to learn new skills;
• Knowing the tech environments is a strong plus;

How to join the mission?

• First call with Alex, our Talent Acquisition Manager, to better understand your background, aspirations and answer any questions you may have. (45 minutes)
• Interview with your future manager, Jean Baptiste, to delve into your experience and the specifics of the role (60 minutes)
• Live case study to assess your legal knowledge and hard skills, which will be evaluated by Stephanie and Jean-Baptiste (60 minutes).
• Final interview with a C-level executive to discuss Malt’s long-term vision (30-45mins)
