Job summary

Voodoo is seeking a Technical Lead to shape the foundations of a new puzzle game studio in Paris. You will partner with the GM to build and scale the technical team and build critical systems from prototype to worldwide launch.

You will lead engineering practices, roadmaps, and live operations while contributing hands-on coding as needed. A strong track record in mobile casual games and Unity is essential for success.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience as Technical Director or Technical Lead on casual games.
• 5+ years of professional experience with Unity.
• Successful track record in top-tier mobile casual games, with experience in both new and live game development.
• Experience in creating, growing, and leading engineering teams.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, enthusiastic about building new things from the ground up.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the General Manager to structure, recruit, and onboard the technical team.
• Define and establish the technical foundations for a new puzzle game, including switcher engine and level editor.
• Develop and implement ways of working for the engineering craft, including practices and rituals.
• Define and execute long-term technical strategy for the studio, scalable for team and game.
• Collaborate with product leadership on roadmap and rollout strategies.
• Engage in hands-on coding when needed to implement features and iterate.
• Monitor product health and guide the team to improve quality and address issues.
