OECD is recruiting an Electricity Grids and Security Analyst within the IEA framework to advance grid security and policy analysis. You will lead technical and modelling work on power systems, grid modernisation, and regulatory contexts in an international setting.

The ideal candidate holds an advanced degree, 5–7 years of direct experience, and strong writing skills in English. This is a 2-year fixed-term appointment based in Paris, with opportunities for renewal.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree or PhD in Electrical / Power / Energy Systems Engineering, Energy Economics, Physics or related discipline.
• 5–7 years of direct power systems work experience in electricity industry, economic consulting, grid technology companies, or at an electric regulatory agency.
• Strong technical background in power systems and in-depth understanding of electricity security concepts.
• Solid knowledge of medium- and low-voltage distribution grids and integration of distributed energy resources.
• Experience with power system modelling (steady-state, dynamic/transient) and grid planning would be an advantage.
• Proven analytical abilities and excellent writing skills demonstrated in past work.

Responsabilités

• Lead the Division’s technical, analytical and modelling work on power systems, grid modernisation (transmission and distribution), and electricity security.
• Lead analytical work on system integration of emerging demand and generation with a focus on reliability and resilience.
• Analyse developments in congestion management, grid connection processes, and strategic grid planning across key power markets.
• Monitor innovations and practices including Grid Enhancing Technologies, digital solutions, and regulatory frameworks.
• Contribute to the delivery of the IEA’s Electricity Security programme and to drafting grid-related content for the IEA’s Electricity report and other publications.
• Engage with key industry stakeholders; support meetings of OECD/IEA committees and working groups.
