Mistral.ai in France is seeking a senior engineering leader to own the Kubernetes product end to end, from architecture decisions to people management. You will guide the team, balance code work with leadership, and ensure delivery at scale on in-house infrastructure.

This role requires real people leadership, Go production experience, Kubernetes expertise, and experience running GPU workloads. You will shape the control plane, schedule GPUs, and mentor engineers to ship reliable systems used by

Qualifications

2+ years of real people leadership.
Shipped production systems in Go.
You have run Kubernetes in anger — ideally built parts of it.
You have run GPU workloads on Kubernetes.
Extensive experience building backend or infrastructure systems.
You have partnered with product, design, and business teams to ship software.

Responsibilities

Design and ship the Kubernetes control plane and the architecture decisions.
Grow the engineers, not just the software, and coach them past their comfort zone.
Own the reliability of the Kubernetes control plane and lead incident response.
Shrink the distance from metal to on-demand through automation.
Partner with Product Managers to set priorities and make tradeoffs.
Own people management for the team: hiring, performance, growth paths, and feedback.
Define the team's processes and execution rituals as it grows.
