Mistral is building a sovereign AI cloud for Europe. This role leads a team from day one, balancing architectural work with people management, and owning the Kubernetes product end to end.

You will shape the control plane, GPU scheduling, and the rack-to-cluster lifecycle with in-house infrastructure. You will mentor engineers, drive ownership, and work cross-functionally with product and design to ship scalable backend systems used by customers.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of real people leadership experience.
• Production-grade Go experience is required (Go language).
• Hands-on Kubernetes experience; understanding core components and scheduling.
• Experience running GPU workloads on Kubernetes.
• Strong backend/infrastructure engineering background.
• Collaborates with product, design and business teams to ship user-facing software.

Responsabilités

• Design and ship the Kubernetes control plane and related architecture.
• Grow and mentor engineers, drive ownership and high-quality deliverables.
• Ensure reliability of the Kubernetes control plane and incident response.
• Automate provisioning to reduce time-to-cluster deployment.
• Partner with Product Managers to set priorities and trade-offs.
• Lead people management: hiring, performance, growth, feedback.
• Define processes and rituals as the team scales.
