Job summary

Mistral AI is building a Compute Support team to ensure reliability and scalability of GPU clusters in a Kubernetes environment. You will be the first point of contact for compute inquiries, provide troubleshooting, and escalate complex issues while contributing to process improvements.

The role blends system administration with customer-facing communication and compute infrastructure expertise. Go knowledge is a plus; 5+ years in relevant roles is expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in system administration, technical support, or infra operations in compute-heavy environments.
• Deep Linux/Unix expertise: kernel debugging, sysctl/uLimit, networking, and storage.
• Hands-on Kubernetes experience: debugging pods/nodes/clusters; networking/storage concepts.
• Familiarity with containerization and monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana); basic IaC awareness.
• Basic scripting/automation (Go preferred; Bash/Python acceptable).
• Experience with bare metal, virtualization, or HPC environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Be the first customer and internal teams contact for compute-related inquiries; triage and respond within SLAs.
• Serve as L2 escalation for Linux, Kubernetes and compute infra issues with deep troubleshooting.
• Debug Kubernetes clusters and container runtimes; collaborate with SRE to improve IaC and tooling.
• Create and maintain runbooks, post-mortems, and internal docs; train teams on best practices.
