Job summary

Mistral.ai is seeking a founding engineering leader to turn arriving hardware into accepted clusters and to build a datacenter software stack that scales toward a gigawatt of compute across Europe. You will own hardware-to-clusters automation, from cabling validation to deployment validation, and you will shape the team from day one with hiring, coaching, and growth paths.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building backend or infrastructure systems.
• 2+ years leading engineers with real people leadership.
• Deep Linux expertise,
• Shipped production systems in Go.
• Willing to travel to datacenter sites.

Responsibilities

• Build the delivery pipeline in Go: provisioning, configuration, validation, burn-in, network bring-up, software stack install.
• Build the team from scratch: hire first engineers, onboard and coach them, own performance and growth paths.
• Own time-to-acceptance and drive it down by analyzing steps and removing bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with Hardware Design and Fleet Health to ensure reliability starts at delivery.
• Handle GPU fleets at scale: H100 and GB200-class nodes, InfiniBand and RoCE fabrics.
• Partner with Product Managers and the datacenter org to plan delivery waves against capacity commitments.
