Mistral AI, Paris-based startup, is seeking a Junior HPC Network Engineer to help design, deploy, and optimize high‑performance network infrastructures for our HPC clusters and AI workloads. You will work closely with senior engineers to learn, troubleshoot, and contribute to the networking solutions that power our research and production environments.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, InfiniBand, RoCE).
• Familiarity with network hardware (switches, routers, NICs) from vendors like Mellanox/Cisco/Arista.
• Exposure to network automation tools (Ansible, Python scripting) or willingness to learn.
• Basic knowledge of HPC environments, parallel computing, or distributed systems.
• Awareness of network security best practices.

Responsabilités

• Assist in designing and deploying high‑performance, low‑latency network architectures for HPC environments (InfiniBand, RoCE, high-speed Ethernet).
• Support integration of networking solutions with compute clusters, storage, and cloud platforms.
• Troubleshoot network issues with supervision and follow escalation procedures.
• Monitor network performance, capacity, and security; implement improvements as directed.
• Document network configurations and procedures to ensure knowledge sharing.
• Stay updated with emerging HPC networking technologies and assist adoption within Mistral.
• Learn from senior engineers to develop expertise in HPC networking protocols, hardware, and automation tools.
