Mistral.ai is seeking a Field Hardware Engineer to sustain and scale our GPU/CPU clusters across Paris-area sites. You will work hands-on with compute, storage, interconnects, and cooling, guiding L1 engineers and coordinating with vendors on complex on-site interventions.

Based in Bruyères-le-Châtel, this on-site field role requires strong data-center hardware chops, safety discipline, and ability to travel between sites.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data center/server hardware in production.
• End-to-end hardware expertise across CPU/memory/PCIe and accelerators.
• Diagnostics depth with BMC/IPMI and Linux logs.
• Safety discipline: ESD/LOTO/PPE; auditable work.
• Strong communication; able to mentor L1s.

Responsabilités

• Plan and execute vendor-level or multi-node operations; own risk assessment/rollback.
• Analyze system indicators and logs to identify root causes.
• Coach L1s during live operations; ensure safe practices.
• Improve SOPs; build small automation (Python/Bash) for ops.
• Plan spares strategy and track failure trends.
