CAREL France, the French subsidiary of CAREL Group, seeks an experienced Industrial Software Developer to migrate and modernize controller software. You will design modular architectures for IEC 61131-3, implement ST-based solutions, and enforce robust Git workflows.

Collaborating with refrigeration specialists and engineers, you will build tests, APIs, and HMIs, driving quality and maintainability across platforms in a global organization.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in software development, automation, or embedded systems.
• Proficiency in Structured Text (ST) or an object-oriented language such as C#, Java, C++, or Python.
• Knowledge of IEC 61131-3 languages (FBD and ST) for CAREL controller applications.
• Knowledge of Git and version control best practices.
• Ability to read, refactor, and improve reliability of legacy code.
• Strong commitment to software quality, testing, documentation, architecture, and maintainability.
• Excellent English communication in a technical environment.

Responsabilités

• Analyze existing controller applications and define a clean migration strategy to recent CAREL platforms.
• Design a modular software architecture for IEC 61131-3 applications that is maintainable, testable, and scalable.
• Develop software in Structured Text (ST) while applying CAREL development principles.
• Structure code around clearly defined functions, classes, interfaces, or function blocks.
• Establish and enforce Git best practices, including version control, code reviews, traceability, and release management.
• Create automated tests, unit tests, audit tools, and non-regression test matrices.
• Contribute to integration of HMI interfaces, web applications, REST APIs, communication systems, and supervisory platforms.
• Collaborate with refrigeration specialists, commissioning engineers, and business experts.
