Job summary

Mistral is hiring a Forward Software Engineer, Data, hybrid roles in Paris and London. You will build end-to-end AI systems and design data architectures supporting production deployments, working closely with customer-facing teams to deliver robust data solutions.

You will tackle hard problems in data engineering for GenAI, ensuring systems are scalable, maintainable, and privacy-conscious while collaborating with researchers and engineers across the company.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building production data-intensive pipelines
• Experience with retrieval-augmented generation or LLM evaluation
• Fluent in English and able to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences

Responsibilities

• Build AI systems end to end from prototype to production
• Design the data architecture: ingestion, processing, storage, and ontologies
• Build distributed pipelines for documents, code, logs, and multimodal content
• Turn client-specific solutions into reusable patterns across multiple deployments
• Ensure systems meet throughput, latency, cost, and failure-recovery goals
• Incorporate data governance: ownership, access control, lineage, retention, privacy
• Develop evaluation loops with labeled data and versioned eval datasets
• Set standards for data system design and deployment
• Collaborate with researchers, engineers, and customer-facing teams
