Job summary

CMA Ships, a CMA CGM Group subsidiary, is seeking a Global Continuous Improvement Management Specialist in Marseille. The role drives structured, sustainable Lean practices in a fast-growing, international shipmanagement environment.

You will identify opportunities, lead cross-functional initiatives, coach teams in problem-solving, and standardize improvements across the fleet and shore operations. Early involvement in audits and continuous learning is expected.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in engineering or maritime studies or quality, or equivalent experience as a seagoing officer or superintendent with a specialization on continuous improvement.
• Effective verbal, written and presentation skills in English
• Expertise on continuous improvement tools (LEAN, RCA, Failure Mode Effect Analysis)
• Internal auditor qualification (ISO / ISM)
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in continuous improvement and operational excellence in a regulated environment
• Maritime experience preferred (shipmanagement, onboard or technical/marine supervision).
• Proven experience in facilitating workshops and managing transversal projects without hierarchical authority
• Ability to translate data into clear recommendations and decisions.

Responsibilities

• Comply with IMS and all relevant international rules and regulations; adhere to quality, health, safety, environmental and ethics policies.
• Propose a continuous performance improvement plan and report progress periodically.
• Identify and prioritize improvement opportunities from audits, incidents, near-misses, and feedback; maintain initiatives; track progress and sustain improvements.
• Lead selected improvement projects and coordinate cross-functional teams; facilitate workshops and coordinate stakeholders.
• Consolidate continuous improvement indicators and report trends, risks and recommendations across the fleet and shore departments.
• Take part in the internal audit programme.
