Mistral.ai is seeking a People Operations Manager to build and scale the HR operations backbone for our France team. You will own payroll, onboarding, immigration, and compliance, while driving automation and efficiency across HR processes.

You will partner with Finance and external providers to ensure accurate payroll, up-to-date policies, and a smooth employee lifecycle from hire to departure. This role combines hands-on execution with process engineering in a dynamic, high-growth environment.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of progressive HR experience in a startup or high-growth setting.
• Deep knowledge of French labor laws, local regulations, payroll structures and tax compliance.
• Experience managing onboarding, offboarding, and retention throughout the employee lifecycle.

Responsabilités

• Process payroll end-to-end for France-based employees with external providers and Finance collaboration.
• Own the onboarding journey, manage contracts, amendments, certificates, and system updates.
• Handle immigration and mobility tasks including work permits, visas, and SSN applications.
• Resolve daily employee inquiries on benefits, enrollment changes, and policies.
• Maintain compliance by updating handbooks and monitoring employment law shifts.
• Lead HR software initiatives and vendor management for HRIS and payroll tools.
• Document, automate, and audit procedures to reduce bottlenecks.
