Datadog is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Applied Scientists team to guide AI/ML initiatives across the product analytics suite and shape how AI capabilities are built and delivered.

You will lead, mentor, and hire while staying hands-on to review prototypes and push production-grade solutions. This greenfield opportunity offers influence through collaboration with product and engineering leadership.

Qualifications

• Experience leading applied AI/ML teams with hands-on research or applied science background.
• Proven people management experience with technical credibility.
• Ability to define direction in ambiguous, greenfield projects.
• Experience taking ML capabilities from research prototypes to production.
• Strong communication skills with product and engineering stakeholders.
• Motivated by early-stage, high-impact work.

Responsabilités

• Lead and grow a team of Applied Scientists across AI/ML capabilities in the Datadog suite.
• Define the technical vision and roadmap for agentic, proactive AI/ML features.
• Remain hands-on as a contributor and reviewer, moving from prototypes to production-grade systems.
• Shape how AI capabilities are built and delivered, partnering with product and engineering leadership.
• Hire and onboard Applied Scientists as Datadog scales its AI investments.
• Represent progress and priorities to stakeholders across Product Analytics and AI efforts.
