Datadog is seeking a people-focused leader to build and guide a team of engineers and applied scientists in cost-efficient AI models and security capabilities. You will collaborate with product managers, researchers, and cross-functional partners to shape bets from framing to broad adoption, with clear success criteria.

You will own end-to-end delivery of AI systems from research exploration to production-grade reliability, ensuring operational excellence, performance, and safety.

Qualifications

• Experience leading engineers and applied scientists in fast-moving AI domains.
• Deep expertise in AI/ML areas such as large language models, retrieval-augmented generation, semantic search, agentic systems, deep learning, or NLP.
• Strong evaluation methodologies for AI systems, including offline benchmarks and online metrics.
• Clear product intuition: framing hypotheses, defining success criteria, and guiding direction with partners.
