Gobano Robotics in Nantes is seeking an Deployment Engineer Intern to bridge mechanics, mechatronics, robotics, software and AI. You will work at Gobano and on customer sites to turn prototypes into production-ready systems.
This hands-on role involves building, installing, debugging, testing and improving robots, with data collection through teleoperation and field feedback to drive improvements. You will join a small engineering team tackling Physical AI deployment in real environments.

As a Deployment Engineer Intern, you will work at the intersection of mechanics, mechatronics, robotics, software and AI.
You will spend time both at Gobano and directly on customer sites, helping turn robotic prototypes into complete systems that work in real industrial environments.
This is a very hands-on role: you will build, install, debug, modify, test and improve robots — and regularly need to find pragmatic solutions when reality does not quite match the initial plan.
A certain part of the internship will be dedicated to collecting data through robot teleoperation. This activity is essential to developing new robotic skills and is an integral part of the role.
Deploy complete robotic systems at Gobano and on customer sites: robot arms, grippers, cameras, sensors, computers and peripherals.
Solve mechanical and mechatronic problems on the field, from designing a simple fixture or adapter to modifying a robotic cell to fit a customer's constraints.
Participate in integration, calibration and debugging across hardware, robotics software and AI.
Deploy and test our Physical AI models on real robots, working closely with our AI & Robotics engineers.
Run experiments, analyse failures and help improve the reliability and performance of deployed systems.
Collect data and feedback from real deployments and turn field problems into actionable improvements for our engineering team.
Help develop the tools and processes that will allow Gobano to deploy more robots, faster and more reliably.
You will join a small engineering team tackling one of the hardest problems in robotics: making Physical AI actually work in production.
Rather than working on an isolated subsystem, you will see the full lifecycle of a robotic application — from the first prototype to the AI model, through integration, testing and deployment at the customer site.
Are studying mechanical engineering, mechatronics, robotics or a related engineering field
Enjoy building things and solving problems with your own hands
Are comfortable moving between mechanical, electrical and software problems
Have basic programming skills — Python and/or C++ are a plus
Are curious about robotics and AI, even if you haven't worked directly on AI models before
Like understanding why something doesn't work and fixing it
Are autonomous, pragmatic and comfortable operating in fast-moving environments
Are excited by spending time on the field rather than only behind a desk
You don't need to already know everything about robotics deployment. What matters most is that you are technically curious, resourceful and eager to learn across disciplines.
