GitLab’s Forward Deployed Engineering team seeks a Staff Forward Deployed Engineer to work directly with strategic customers across the EMEA region. You’ll contribute production-grade code and help guide AI adoption within the agentic SDLC while upholding GitLab’s standards.

You’ll diagnose complex issues, coordinate with multiple product and field teams, and create reusable guidance that scales beyond individual accounts. Remote-Global role with strong collaboration.

Qualifications

• Staff-level experience building or improving complex production software systems.
• Contribute to large, mature codebases with high testing, performance and security standards.
• Experience with AI-assisted development and governance is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Contribute production-quality code to GitLab’s product and adjacent systems.
• Develop bug fixes, features, integrations, tooling, and performance improvements when strategic customer outcomes require direct engineering work.
• Work within GitLab’s product and engineering processes, including issue discovery, MR creation, testing, review, documentation, and maintainability.
• Partner with Product and Engineering so customer-driven solutions support long-term product direction.
• Turn blockers discovered in the field into durable product improvements, reference architectures, documentation, and repeatable implementation patterns.
• Engage with strategically important customers when adoption, retention, executive confidence, or public trust is at risk.
• Diagnose complex problems across GitLab product behavior, customer architecture, CI/CD, observability, infrastructure, and cloud environments.
• Coordinate across Product, Engineering, SRE, Support, SA, CSA, CSM, and customer teams to drive resolution from discovery through handoff.
• Provide data-driven recommendations to improve GitLab usage, workflows, automation, and architecture.
