IXO is engaging infrastructure private-equity associates for paid remote financial modeling and peer review. The assignment uses a synthetic transaction so that practitioners can demonstrate how they turn deal evidence into a working model and assess the quality of alternative implementations.

Work and outputs

Build an infrastructure transaction model directly from the supplied document pack. You need to structure the workbook yourself, without a template. Deliver the Excel file in editable form with functioning formulas, clear links to the source information and explicit modeling assumptions.

You will also receive two anonymized models prepared by other participants for the same transaction. Review both against a shared set of criteria. For each, complete the review scorecard and explain the reasoning behind your assessment in a short written rationale. The assignment therefore includes your model and two separate peer-model evaluations.

Required background

You must have two to four years of total experience, with around two years in investment banking followed by one to two years in infrastructure private equity. Your banking experience must cover infrastructure, power and utilities, or real-estate/TMT M&A.

You must currently be, or recently have been, an associate at an infrastructure-focused PE fund or in the infrastructure business of a multi-strategy investment manager. Experience with digital infrastructure is required, including exposure to data centres, fibre networks or telecommunications towers. This sector knowledge supports the interpretation of the transaction rather than serving as an optional interest area.

You must be able to build a financial model from source documents independently and communicate fluently in English. The opportunity is remote for practitioners based in the United States or United Kingdom.

Engagement details

Compensation is $85 $105/hr USD. Allow approximately 20–25 hours over 1.5–2 weeks as an indicative planning assumption. IXO will agree the actual scope, schedule and expected outputs before work starts; the estimate is not a guarantee of hours or subsequent assignments.
