Soltage in Jersey City, NJ seeks a Civil/Structural Project Engineer to own civil, structural, and site civil engineering for standalone battery energy storage and solar-plus-storage projects, from design review through construction and commissioning.

Reporting to the SVP of Engineering, you’ll lead technical reviews, manage external consultants, coordinate with EPCs and utilities, and ensure compliance with North American codes. 3–5 years of urban civil construction experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Civil Engineering, is required.
• 3–5 years of project or field engineering experience on urban civil construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of civil/structural engineering for utility-scale BESS, solar PV, substations and HV infrastructure.
• Experience coordinating with EPC contractors, utilities, and regulatory agencies.

Responsabilités

• Support civil and structural design for utility-scale BESS, solar PV, substations, and BOP infrastructure.
• Lead technical review of civil and structural deliverables including foundations, drainage, and cable trenches.
• Conduct site visits for field investigations, geotechnical observations, and inspections.
• Develop engineering calculations, specs, drawings, and submittals.
• Serve as primary contact for civil/structural matters and oversee external engineers.
• Review vendor foundation and wall designs, equipment loads, seismic criteria, and installation requirements.
• Support bids and value engineering, resolve RFIs and NCRs.
• Verify completion of civil/structural work during commissioning and turnover.
