GameChange Energy in Norwalk, CT is seeking a Solar Project Engineer to perform engineering analysis, draft construction documents for ground-mounted solar racking, and support project delivery. The role requires a civil or mechanical background and familiarity with codes, standards, and AutoCAD.

You will collaborate with clients and permitting officials, review inbound documentation, and help optimize designs to reduce material costs while maintaining quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and reports.
• Ability to work independently and reliably according to schedules.
• Capability to understand and apply codes and standards.
• Experience with solar PV technology is a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering analysis, including structural calculations for company products.
• Draft construction documents for ground mounted solar racking systems.
• Participate in internal and upstream supply chain QC operations.
• Evaluate inbound documentation to identify project hurdles.
• Stay updated with best design practices and new products.
• Interface with staff, clients, and permitting officials.
• Design and validate ways to reduce material cost without compromising quality.
• Support Sales in preliminary project analysis and material take-offs.
