Job summary

Chastain and Associates LLC is seeking a Transportation Project Manager to oversee IDOT Phase I–III projects across multiple offices while tracking the project backlog. The role includes managing client relationships and pursuing new opportunities with the Business Development Team.

You will also lead current Phase I/II and county/municipal transportation projects and mentor staff. Flexible hybrid schedule is available, with locations in Illinois and Indiana; PE license or ability to obtain is

Qualifications

• PE license in Illinois or ability to obtain
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil preferred)
• 10+ years of experience on IDOT roadway and bridge design projects and staff mentoring

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do as the Transportation Project Manager

You will oversee multiple IDOT phase I, II or phase III projects across various offices while managing and tracking the project backlog.

• Manage client relationships, cultivating new business connections, and collaborating with the Business Development Team to identify IDOT PTB items to pursue.

• Managing current IDOT Phase I and II engineering projects as well as County and Municipal Transportation projects.
• Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, ensuring satisfaction, retention, and alignment with business objectives.

What You’ll Bring to the Table

• Licensure:Professional Engineer (PE) License in the state of Illinois or ability to obtain
• Education:A Bachelors degree in Engineering (Civil Engineering is )
• Experience:10+ years of experience working on IDOT roadway and bridge design projects, and managing/mentoring civil engineering staff
• Location:Decatur, IL - Rockford, IL- Lafayette, IN - Schaumburg, IL - Hybrid schedule is available
• Software skills:Microsoft 365, MicroStation/Open Roads and Adobe (AutoCAD Civil 3D beneficial)
• Adaptability:excel at adapting to changing project requirements.
