Job summary

Chastain and Associates LLC is seeking a Transportation Project Engineer to design geometric layouts, traffic plans, and drainage for municipal, state, and federal projects. The role offers collaboration with public agencies, strong client relationships, and opportunities to grow technical expertise.

You'll mentor junior engineers, coordinate with subconsultants, and contribute to documentation and proposals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Ability to obtain PE license in Illinois (or licensure path).
• 6+ years of hands-on transportation project experience.
• Hybrid schedule available across listed locations.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop geometric layouts, traffic control plans, drainage, and site development solutions.
• Interpret and apply engineering principles to plans and specs with QC throughout design.
• Coordinate with subconsultants and multidisciplinary teams for field surveys, studies, and construction observations.
• Contribute to technical documentation, design reports, and proposal development.
• Mentor and collaborate with junior engineers to enhance design efficiency.
