The European Society of Cardiology (ESC) is seeking an Association Manager for a permanent contract at its Sophia Antipolis headquarters in France. You will define and implement strategic direction for the groups under your responsibility, align activities with ESC priorities, and support leadership and volunteers.

This role focuses on operational excellence, strong relationship-building with internal and external partners, and promoting ESC projects.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree (Bac +4/5) in Business, Administration, or Management.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in strategic, operational, and leadership roles.
• Project leadership and volunteer/team motivation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Salesforce, Smartsheet.
• Strategic thinking & stakeholder alignment.

Position Overview

The ESC is currently looking for an Association Manager for a permanent contract (CDI) as soon as possible at its headquarters in Sophia Antipolis, France.

Responsibilities

Major duties and responsibilities include defining and implementing the strategic direction of the groups under their responsibility, ensuring alignment with ESC priorities and institutional governance. The role involves managing group activities in a professional and ethical manner, supporting leadership and volunteer engagement, ensuring operational excellence, and enhancing visibility and impact of group contributions.

• Contribute to defining and implementing the Association’s strategy: translate the Board’s strategic direction into action plans, allocate resources, and develop Association activities.
• Manage the Association and oversee its activities with professionalism and ethical standards: maintain strong relationships, act as a trusted advisor, support strategic decision implementation, motivate volunteers, set and track performance indicators, analyze variances, and recommend corrective measures.
• Uphold the brand image and ethical standards of the ESC: represent the Association and ESC consistently, promote programs with coherence, and ensure communications reflect the organization’s values.
• Contribute to ESC’s development through promotion and visibility of the Association’s projects and achievements.

• French labour law provisions.
• Business travel in Europe expected, including weekends.
