Job summary

Mistral in Paris is seeking an Applied AI Engineer for the Proto team to design and deliver production-grade AI systems in rapid cycles. You will work at the intersection of product and customer, translating business needs into scalable technical solutions.

You will guide architecture, collaborate with internal teams and clients, and contribute to open-source initiatives while enabling new business opportunities and ongoing product improvement.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years building and deploying production AI products
• Strong Python and FastAPI experience
• Experience with frontend frameworks such as React or Vue
• Experience with GenAI stacks (RAG, Agent, Evaluation & Orchestration)
• Ability to translate business needs into technical plans and communicate with stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Deliver end-to-end full-stack AI solutions from scoping through deployment
• Partner with customers to clarify needs and architect robust systems
• Ship ready-to-use applications for clients and internal teams
• Lead architecture and technical choices for scalable, reliable solutions
• Diagnose and solve complex technical problems across industries and use cases
• Contribute to internal tools, product improvements, and open-source initiatives
• Evaluate and integrate new technology capabilities into existing systems
