Mistral seeks an Applied AI Engineer to join its specialized team delivering secure AI solutions for critical institutions. You will design, implement, and deploy AI systems tailored to sovereign infrastructure, contributing to high-impact projects with society-wide implications.

The role requires deep expertise in fine-tuning LLMs, RAG, NLP deployment, and strong Python/PyTorch skills, with cloud/MLOps experience and collaboration across researchers and product teams.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master’s in AI, ML, CS, or related field
• 2+ years of experience in AI/ML
• Proven leadership in AI projects from prototyping to production
• Deep expertise in fine-tuning LLMs, advanced RAG and deploying NLP at scale
• Strong Python, PyTorch, and modern AI frameworks (LangChain, HuggingFace) and cloud/MLOps familiarity
• Experience with API design and backend/full-stack development with clear communication to executives

Responsabilités

• Deploy AI solutions into production for high-impact use cases
• Develop GenAI applications for sovereign institutions and critical infrastructure
• Collaborate with researchers and product teams on fine-tuning and open-source contributions
• Engage in pre-sales discussions to guide clients on Mistral’s tech
• Improve offerings with security, compliance, and performance focus
