Advocate Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support aseptic procedures and assist during operations in the Surgery Department. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider required.
• Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology required or equivalent military training.
• 2 years of operating room experience in surgical technologist role required.

Responsabilités

• Possesses a thorough knowledge of aseptic technique and its application.
• Assists in obtaining and organizing supplies and instruments prior, during and after surgical procedure.
• Assists RN circulator in patient prep, assembly of supplies, instruments and specimens; supports room turnover.
• Performs duties according to department policy and procedure.
• Monitors sterility of supplies and ensures proper documentation and charge submission.
• Monitors and documents sterilization activities for completion.
• Attends in-services and staff meetings and supports performance improvement initiatives.
• Participates in educational opportunities to increase competency and meet goals.
• Assists in developing policies, procedures, and standards.
• May serve as a preceptor and clinical resource.
• Supports unit clinical projects as needed.

Formation

High School Diploma or GED

Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider

Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology

2 years of operating room experience as surgical technologist
