Job summary

Oura is seeking an Algorithm Scientist in Oulu, Finland, to develop and validate health-sensing algorithms for our wearable platform. You will work on signal processing and machine learning across sensing modalities, contributing to features used by millions of users globally.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, machine learning, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Python, with collaborative development practices (e.g., Git, code reviews, CI).
• Hands-on experience with signal processing and time-series analysis on real-world biosignals from wearable devices.
• Advanced degree (MSc/PhD) in a STEM field or equivalent work experience.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy signal processing and ML algorithms for Oura features/products based on biosignals.
• Support exploratory research to identify and characterize new sensing features and functionality.
• Design and execute data collection studies to develop biomarkers and evaluate algorithms.
• Develop and maintain reusable data analysis tools at scale.
• Document, summarize, and present results to technical and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Support feasibility studies for new sensing modalities and contribute input to hardware, firmware, product teams.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and overseas stakeholders.
