Job summary

Seinäjoen kaupunki is seeking a permanent Sports Facility Manager for outdoor grounds, starting 1 November 2026 or as agreed. The role combines hands-on facility work with staff oversight, stakeholder collaboration and long-term development of sports facilities.

You will lead daily operations, maintenance planning and shifts while supervising 5–12 seasonal staff and serving as a deputy to other facility managers. A four-month probation applies.

Qualifications

  • Relevant education in sports facility management or suitable qualification.
  • Experience in supervisory roles and ability to lead staff in varying environments and seasons.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Experience with HR/administrative systems is a plus.

Job description

The City of Seinäjoki's Sports Services department seeks a permanent Sports Facility Manager for outdoor sports grounds, starting 1 November 2026 or as agreed. The role is central to planning and delivering competitions and events, and combines hands‑on facility work with personnel management, stakeholder collaboration and long‑term development of sports facilities. Responsibilities include daily operation, maintenance planning and organizing work shifts, resources and equipment use. You will act as a supervisor, oversee seasonal staff (5-12 depending on the season) and serve as a deputy to other sports facility managers. The job involves ensuring safety, quality and operational reliability of outdoor facilities, cooperating with sport clubs and event organisers, handling user feedback and contributing to development of construction and sports infrastructure projects. There may be duties at other Seinäjoki City sports sites as needed. You will work as part of the supervisor organization for facilities and collaborate closely with other facility managers and the head of facilities.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Good teamwork and proactive work style
  • Fluency in spoken and written English
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Experience with HR/administrative systems is a plus
  • Health certificate is required before starting
  • four-month probationary period applies
