Job summary

Sonka Resort in Finnish Lapland is seeking an experienced Resort Manager to lead day-to-day operations and help shape the property's ongoing development. You will own the guest experience and oversee reception, housekeeping, maintenance and the commercial side of the resort.

This is a year-round, full-time role with real responsibility and influence. You will lead a dedicated team, work closely with Arctic GM management, and ensure consistently high-quality service.

Qualifications

• Proven operational management experience within hotels, resorts or hospitality.
• Ability to lead people and maintain high standards without constant direction.
• Confident and supportive leader with a hands-on approach.
• Structured, reliable and hands-on in day-to-day operations.
• Proactive and comfortable making decisions under pressure.
• Guest-focused with strong attention to quality.
• Calm and solution-oriented when priorities change.
• Fluent in English; hold a valid Category B driving licence recognised in Finland; right to work in Finland without employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Own the operation and development of Sonka Resort.
• Lead the resort operation and team (reception, housekeeping, maintenance, daily priorities).
• Own guest experience and quality from booking to departure.
• Oversee commercial and digital aspects (booking systems, rates, guest information).
• Maintain and develop property presentation, inspections and content.
• Collaborate with Arctic GM management to improve routines and growth.

Job description

Sonka Resort is looking for an experienced Resort Manager to lead the resort’s
day-to-day operation and play an important role in its continued development.

Part of Arctic GM Experiences, Sonka combines accommodation, guest services and
Arctic experiences in Finnish Lapland. We are looking for a strong hospitality
professional who can take genuine ownership of the resort, lead the team and ensure a consistently high-quality guest experience.

Tasks

• As Resort Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the operation and continued development of Sonka Resort.

• Lead the resort operation and team, including reception, housekeeping, maintenance and daily priorities

• Own the guest experience and quality standards, from booking and arrival through to departure

• Oversee the commercial and digital side of the resort, including booking systems, availability, rates and guest-facing information

• Maintain and develop the property and its presentation, including inspections, maintenance follow-up, photography and content

• Work closely with Arctic GM management and operational teams to improve routines, solve issues and support the continued growth of Sonka Resort

Requirements

• We are looking for someone with proven operational management experience within hotels, resorts or hospitality.

• You know how to lead people, organise a busy operation and maintain high standards without needing constant direction.

• A confident and supportive leader

• Proactive and comfortable making decisions

• Guest-focused with strong attention to quality

• Calm and solution-oriented when priorities change

• Fluent in English

• Hold a valid Category B driving licence recognised in Finland

• Already have the right to work in Finland without employer-sponsored work authorisation

• Experience from resort operations, international hospitality, high-volume environments or winter destinations is considered an advantage.
